The Wait Begins

Jon has officially applied for law school. After months of LSAT prep courses, the LSAT, countless revisions on his personal statement and selecting the schools, it is done. We have applied to 5 schools, including the University of Utah. We are hoping that we will get to stay here in Utah for school, but know that there is a possibility we could be moving. It's an exciting and anxious time! We should start getting word back from schools starting the end of January and throughout the spring. Wish us luck!

Movie Review

Last week I went to the new Christmas Carol movie with my friends. I was really looking forward to it - but was sorely disappointed. Let me clarify, I had high expectations for the movie and was expecting it to be funny and light-hearted because Jim Carey was in it. I was wrong. It was not funny, nor light-hearted. If you're looking for a serious, somber and sometimes dark Christmas movie, I encourage you to go see it.

My friend Shantel asked me what exactly I was expecting - it's a Christmas Carol and the story doesn't change. Maybe she's right. But you know what, there is an alternative!

Presenting.......The Muppet Christmas Carol. This is one of my favorite movies. It's funny, heartwarming, has great songs and Kermit the Frog. What more could you want?

'Tis the Season...

...to be thankful

Tonight I am thankful for friends. I just got back from dinner group. I've blogged about this before, but here I go again. When I started college I joined an LDS sorority. I became instantly close with an amazing group of girls. We have stayed close for the past 5 years, trying to go to dinner at least every other month, and we were able to get together tonight.

The 5 of us who met tonight are all married now and are going through similar stages in our lives. What amazing women. I just don't have words to describe how much I love these ladies. We only see each other every other month, but we are still close and able to share what is going on in our lives with such ease.

I have been blessed with good friends my entire life. I know I would not be the person I am today without the influence of these great friends.

Disney World!

Jon and I were able to go to Disney World for a week! We had such a great time. The weather was perfect (even a little hot), and the crowds were minimal. We basically walked on to every ride we wanted to go on, and sometimes we rode them multiple times. Here are some pictures from our vacation. Enjoy!

Gotta love the 3-D! Toy Story Midway Mania was the best ride! You ride in this cars and are moved around to what looks like old fashioned arcade shooting games. Everyone has a gun that they use to shoot the targets - you can actually see 3 dimensional objects coming out of your gun and hitting the targets in front of you. It's AMAZING! Jon and I were pretty competitive... since the lines were minimal, we rode it 3 times :)

Mr. Potato Head - he was the best ride line entertainment. He told jokes, sang songs and joked with the crowd as everyone waited in line.

Jon & Mickey

The Norway Pavilion - I'm a viking

Now Jon's a handsome looking Viking, isn't he?

When we were at the France Pavilion, we ate at a really nice restaurant called Les Chefs de France. As we were eating our appetizers, a cart was brought around to the tables with a covered platter on top. When the cover was lifted - there was Ratatouille! It was a little rat that actually could answer questions and talk with his little squeaks. As cheesy as it sounds, it was one of the highlights of the trip (no pun intended).

In Italy, eating gelato... yummy.....

In Epcot at the France Pavilion

This is a picture of our hotel. We stayed at Walt Disney World's All Star Sports Resort. Behind Jon you can see two giant football helmet. Those are the two football-themed buildings. There were also baseball, surfing, basketball, and tennis themed buildings. This place was huge!

I highly recommend staying on Disney property if you ever go. We didn't rent a car and didn't need one. We had complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport, buses that went to every park and Downtown Disney every 20 minutes, and airline baggage and flight check in at the hotel. It was great!

CARS Mickey Ears - you don't get much cuter than this :)

Epcot was one of our favorite places - this is that giant size golf ball, also known as Spaceship Earth. A little trivia for you all: when Walt Disney envisioned the parks of Walt Disney World, he wanted to create an Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow (EPCOT). Walt did not live to see the park opened, but the core of his ideas can still be seen throughout the park.

It was really hot some days, and to cool off we ate a lot of Mickey shaped ice-cream... Yummy...

This was our first day! When we walked into the park, there was a huge group of people from Brazil. We could not turn around without seeing someone in a yellow and greet shirt.

LOVE. IT.

A few weeks ago, I decided that I really wanted to go on a vacation. Jon has been super busy all summer, and I have been working. We decided that a break was in order. After a lot of research and price comparison, it's official. We're going to Disney World next week! I can't even express how excited I am to go. I haven't been in roughly 10 years, and Jon has never been. We have great flights, a great hotel, and our park passes for an awesome price. I can't wait! LOVE. IT.

A couple months ago, one of our good friends gave us season 1 of The Office. Jon and I had never watched an episode, nor did we have any real desire to. We were promised that we would love it and should watch it. Well, we're completely hooked! (Thank you Scott and Christina!). LOVE. IT.

Jon and I went up to Logan on Saturday to spend some time with our friends and go to a demolition derby! Here are some of my favorite pictures from that night.
